Home screen of the endr website
Problem:
In life, there often comes a time where one needs to send a rejection text.
Solution:
A website that uses generative AI and user input to write kind, clear and customized rejection texts.
Context:
This was a the final project for my advanced web design course. I conducted user research and designed and programmed the website.
Home screen of the Which Instrument website
Problem:
Many people listen to music without the ability to recognize different instruments easily.
Solution:
An interactive website which teaches, drills and quizzes users on instrument recognition.
Context:
This was a team project for my UI course at Columbia. I designed, managed and co-programmed the website. We ran user studies on 4 classmates and integrated their feedback and our TA's suggestions in our iterations.
Home screen of the dance database website
Problem:
People who come to NYC may not know of the many dance companies they could see.
Solution:
A database of dance companies in NYC with information about each one. The database is searchable and editable. Users can also add new dance companies.
Context:
This was an individual project for my UI course at Columbia.

Teach Aibot
Problem:
Recently there has been more computer science education in elementary schools. However, artificial intelligence is included minimally, if at all. Simultaneously, AI is increasingly impacting society—both positively and negatively.
Solution:
A free and interactive website for K-4 teachers to use in their classrooms. Users flow through seven interactive pages which I designed and my pair-programmer and I coded. Through the sequence, we aim to show young students how they can teach a computer using data.
Context:
This was a summer '21 research project under Professor Mark Santolucito.
Vending machine addition to the CitiBike system in NYC
CitiGo
Problem:
CitiBikers and pedestrians are often unprepared.
Solution:
A vending machine at every CitiBike docking station with ponchos, water, snacks, tissues, etc. and local art on the side.
Context:
This was a team project for my human-centered design course at Columbia. I ran 3 user interviews, created a journey map and ideated the initial vending machine concept. One of my teammates, Esther Lawson-John, created this SolidWorks mockup.

Problem:
PhD students need academic websites to go on the job market, but unless they are computer scientists, they may not know html/css.
Solution:
I reached out to a PhD student, Ezra Karger, and offered to make a website for him at ezrakarger.com. I implemented the Mavo framework so that Ezra can always edit the content of his website without html/css and without contacting me.
Isometric view of the Trifolda design
Trifolda
Problem:
I went around campus observing how people use benches. I noticed people useing the furniture in ways that the designers might not have expected. For example, Columbia's stone benches became beds, back rests, dining tables, etc.
Solution:
Bench add-ons allow the users to configure the bench into whichever possible setup best suits their needs.
Context:
This was a project for my architecture studio course at Columbia. I created this diagram with Adobe Illustrator.

Custom Barnard Apparel
Problem:
College apparel stores like that of Barnard College have limited styles. I, personally, was not excited by the options.
Solution:
I bought a plain sweatshirt from Target in Barnard's color, navy, learned embroidery, designed a floral take on the Barnard logo and produced it over the course of the semester.
